It’s really difficult to manage your time. That’s something I hear often from my clients. It’s something you know you need to do better – but you don’t know how. You’ve tried making to-do lists, downloading productivity apps on your phone, maybe even different methods to organize your calendar. But, it’s difficult.
And you’re right – it is difficult. The path to better time management will take a little more than just creating a to-do list and calling it a day.
Let me share an excerpt from our upcoming email course. An email course is a simple idea where we send you an actionable time management method every day for 4 days – so at the end of the course, you’re equipped with the tools you need to manage your time better. (We’ll share the link when it’s available!)
Time management method #1: Eat that frog
There’s one thing on your to-do list that you don’t want to do. We all have these tasks. But the problem is that it’s the task that you’re most likely to put off, until it starts to weigh down on you. These tasks are productivity and time destroyers.
That’s your frog.
Brian Tracy’s Eat That Frog method is pretty simple: first thing in the morning, do your hardest task – the task you don’t want to do. Eat your frog for breakfast.
If you don’t eat your frog first, you’ll keep thinking about it – and eventually start dreading it. You’ll think, “Well it doesn’t need to be done today, so I’ll just do it tomorrow.” But the task won’t be any easier tomorrow. This is the problem with frogs – they get bigger as time goes on.
When you eat your frog first, you’ll be free to work on other tasks – the ones you want to do – the rest of the day. And you’ll actually be more productive because you won’t be busy worrying about the one task you don’t want to do.
Eat your frog first thing in the morning, and you’ll be much more productive throughout the day.
